Comparison of Theoretical and Experimental Approach to Predict Crude Oil Spreading Rate in Niger Delta Area, Nigeria
Abstract
Theoretical and Experimental approach was employed to examine the rate of crude oil characteristics upon the
influence of transport and spreading, using Niger Delta raw crude oil. The major raw crude oil used for this
investigation are Escravos crude oil, Brass blend and Bonny light and the rate of transport and spreading was
monitored based on the laboratory set – up experiment. Mathematical model was developed to monitor, predict and
simulate the rate of transport and spreading of each sample and compare their behaviors in the water medium.
