Biomass Conversion-Technologies and Benefits

Abstract


Biomass refers to an organic matter that can be used as fuel. It comprises crop residues, manure (both human and animal), industrial wastes, domestic wastes etc. Biomass has been in use for energy generation from last several years. Several technologies have been developed for obtaining energy from biomass fuel. Some of these techniques have been summarized in this review. Using biomass for energy generation has several benefits. It is safe and environment-friendly. It does not create pollution and can be used as a renewable source of energy generation.
