Modern Approach for Sustainable Energy Conservation

Aruna Singh

Abstract

Sustainable Energy conservation is becoming a topic of great discussion day by day. In developing countries such as India, energy conservation is a big necessity for fulfilling the increasing demands owing to the huge population which is increasing at an exponential rate. Green chemistry is a novel and highly useful technology, initially introduced by the US government agency during the early 1990’s for conservation. It implies strategies and varying approaches to design chemical products and processes that may remove or ameliorate the toxic waste materials. It also aims to modulate the ultimate disposal of the hazardous chemicals and products such that it does not cause harm to plants, animals, human health and the environment as a whole. Green chemistry has been shown some benefits and also some limitations like any other technology. It cannot be applied to some chemical products, though the aim of Green chemistry still seems beneficiary and helpful. Here is a brief overview of this approach and how it is useful for developing countries like India.
