Abstract

New metal complexes of Zn(II),and Ni(II) have been synthesized by reacting metal solutions with the ligand 2,5-substituted 1,3,4-Oxadiazoles in alcoholic medium.  Molecular formulae of the complexes were determined and are further characterized by IR spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility and molar conductance studies.  Since two nitrogen atoms coordinate to the metal center, the ligand is termed as bidentate ligand.
