Photochemical Internalization (PCI) Role in site specific Cancer Treatment

Abstract

Photochemical Internalization technique facilitates the delivery of large classes of macromolecules which is unable to penetrate Plasma membrane like ribosome inactivating protiens (RIPs), RIP based immunotoxins genes and few chemotherapeutic agents into the cytosol of cell. It is a target based approach to treat diseases. In this review application of PCI in cancer treatment is discussed. Keywords: PCI, PDT, cancer treatment
