Abstract

Mathematical model was developed to monitor and predict the impulse response for the pneumatic proportional integral controller on the transfer function. This was achieved by the use of Laplace transform as a relation between the impulse response and the transfer function. The impulse response was obtained and substituted in to the transfer function in other for the response to be investigated. MATLAB 2015 was used for the simulation of the Transfer Function obtained and the results showed that the impulse response can be used for monitoring and control of process variables. The research work demonstrates the usefulness of impulse response in monitoring, predicting and simulating the pneumatic proportional integral controller relationship with the transfer function of a given system. Key words Model, prediction, impulse response, pneumatic proportional integral controller, transfer function
