Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of elevating the agricultural sector's productivity through the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies and novel farming practices. Achieving this objective requires a collective, flexible, and adaptive approach that encompasses a diverse array of actors and takes into account various factors, which extend beyond the typical domains of research and extension services. Agricultural Innovation Systems (AIS) can serve as a hub for collaborative learning, knowledge sharing, and knowledge generation. This notion of innovation systems, initially derived from advanced technological industries in developed nations, has been extended to the agricultural sector in developing countries, presenting new opportunities for the application of innovative ideas. The Agricultural Knowledge and Information System (AKIS) provides a mechanism for linking farmers, educators, researchers, and extension specialists, thereby encouraging the mutual exchange of information and knowledge related to agriculture, with the ultimate goal of enhancing livelihoods and augmenting the efficiency of the sector.
