Purendra Singh, Hanuman Lal Kumawat, Teena Agrawal

Abstract

This study was aimed at the elucidation of the bioactive compounds present in methanol extracts of Carica papaya L. The GC-MS mass spectra of the identified compounds were compared with those of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) database library. The results confirmed the presence of 32 compounds including 10-Heptadecen-8-ynoic acid, methyl ester, (E)-, 3,6-Octadecadiynoic acid, methyl ester, 7-epi-cis-sesquisabinene hydrate, Methyl 5-cyclopropyl-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-pyrazole-3carboxylate, á-copaene, Tetradecanoic acid, Tridecanoic acid, Pentadecanoic acid, Hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester, n-Hexadecanoic acid, l-(+)-Ascorbic acid 2,6-dihexadecanoate, 9,12-Octadecadienoic acid (Z,Z)-, methyl ester, Methyl 9-cis,11-trans-octadecadienoate, 9,12-Octadecadienoic acid, methyl ester, 9-Octadecenoic acid (Z)-, methyl ester, 11-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester, trans-13-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester, trans-13-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester, Methyl stearate, Heptadecanoic acid, 16-methyl-, methyl ester, Cyclopropanebutanoic acid, 2-[[2-[[2-[(2-pentylcyclopropyl)methyl]cyclopro pyl]methyl]cyclopropyl]methyl]-, methyl ester, 6,9,12-Octadecatrienoic acid, methyl ester, Methyl 6-cis,9-cis,11-trans-octadecatrienoate, 13,16-Octadecadiynoic acid, methyl ester, [1,1'-Bicyclopropyl]-2-octanoic acid, 2'-hexyl-, methyl ester, Cholest-22-ene-21-ol, 3,5-dehydro-6-methoxy-, pivalate, Ethyl iso-allocholate, Stigmasterol, 1-Heptatriacotanol, á-Sitosterol, ç-Sitosterol, Cholesta-8,24-dien-3-ol, 4-methyl-, (3á,4à)-, 5-Cholestene-3-ol, 24-methyl- found in methanol extracts.
