Impact of COVID-19 on Agriculture Sector

Abstract


COVID-19 pandemic has brought the varied modification within the Indian agricultural system extensively throughout the year. Nonetheless, the current quarterly gross domestic product projections post-COVID-19 state of things highlight the capabilities and durability of Indian farming, which is expected to expand by 3.4% in fiscal year 2020–2021. The sole sector that accustomed get on the positive growth of five.8% witnessed the downfall by a pair of.5% point. In this framework, scientists are attempting to summarize the impact on the Indian agricultural sector, including production, sale, and consumption, as well as a collection of possible post-pandemic recovery and prosperity strategies. Several survey findings show that the pandemic has impacted production and
sales due to labor and supply restrictions, but the adverse personal profit shock limited access to economic opportunities and increased the pricing of food commodities, causing consumption patterns to shift. The area unit even the farmers facing the high percentage of loans and face major money downside. All stakeholders in the Indian agriculture system were affected by the epidemic on a
physical, social, economic, and emotional level. Taking advantage of the situation, the government announced a slew of new policies and long-awaited changes. To recover and thrive post-pandemic, we offer an eight-point approach that includes safety net programs, household agriculture, monetizing buffer stock, staggered purchase, and secondary agriculture
