Abstract

Solid waste management is a major problem in urban areas of India. It is due to large urbanization, industrialization, and increasing population. The solid waste management systems ranked very poorly in India over the last few decades. Approximately 90% of residual waste is dumped instead of its proper landfilling. The solid waste management system should be improved in India because it will be beneficial for our future generations and the environment. For different types of solid wastes like ewaste, Radioactive waste, agricultural waste, commercial waste, Domestic waste, commercial waste, etc. Appropriate methods of disposal should be obtained according to suitability for proper and safe disposal of solid wastes. It is necessary to separate waste at the source, domenstic must sort waste into three categories: organically or biodegradable waste, dry waste like plastic, paper, metal, and wood, and household toxic waste matters, tissue paper, mosquito sprey, detergent. Large waste producers, like hospitals, are also expected to process organic waste on-site or in collaboration with municipal governments.
