Farm-Scale Biogas Generation and Upgradation as Transportation Fuel
Abstract
Biogas from the bio degradable biomass like slurry, agricultural wastes, and kitchen wastes mainly consists of the methane, carbon di oxide and the trace amount of sulfur and hydrogen. Methane has a higher calorific value to be used as a transportation fuel and the residual waste after decomposition of biomass can be effectively used as fertilizer. However, the presence of other constituents along with methane significantly hinders the in cylinder combustion and abrasion of the mating parts. In this research work, biogas was produced through the anaerobic digestion of the cow dung. The detail design specification had been considering different variables. After then, to minimize the effect of the impurities from the biogas upgradation of the raw biogas has been done through the water scrubber has been demonstrated.
