Overview on the Thermal Properties, Geometric Structure and Recycling Process of Thermoplastic Materials.

Chukwuemeka Peter Ukpaka

Abstract

This study is aim to discuss the thermal properties, geometric structure and recycling process of thermoplastic materials. Also, recycling is one of the most important actions currently available to reduce the negative impact on the environment and represent one of the most dynamic areas in plastics industry today. Thermal properties, geometric structure and recycling process of thermoplastic materials deals with the properties of thermoplastics which includes: it may melt before passing to a gaseous state, allow plastic deformation when it is heated, they are soluble in certain solvents, and when dealing with the geometric structure: consideration is based on 2 major structures, namely: crystalline and amorphous structure.  While the recycling process are divided into 4 majorly which include the primary recycling, secondary recycling, chemical recycling and energy recovery.

Key Words: Overview, thermal properties, geometric, structure, recycling process, thermoplastic materials.
