Abstract

Degeneration of lubrication by seepage of water to core of ropes produces corrosion to change relevant properties. Corrosion of wire ropes in suspender of cross-sea bridges has induced from sulfur dioxide present in environment. Stress corrosion accident of steel wire in coalmine has studied by stress corrosion behaviors of high strength steel wires in mine trickling water. Keywords Steel, Rope, Corrosion, Fracture, Mine water, Tensile test, Stress corrosion crack
